Most of the inspiration for my art comes from exploring outdoors. I'm especially drawn to big skies and grassy fields.
These gouache landscapes were part of a field series I painted in 2018.

Original Art Inspired by Farmhouse Charm

Ever since I was a little girl, I have been drawn to painting nature scenes. I seemed to find inspiration all the time from the world around me. When all of my friends talked about being ballerinas, nurses, and teachers when they grew up, I talked about being an artist for Disney. I drew along with Bob Ross on his PBS show with my crayons every day.

There is something magical about manipulating color in such a way that it creates a beautiful picture. I love the feel of oil paint between my fingers that many times I cannot resist finger-painting. Painting makes me feel so alive, and it overwhelms me every time I think about how I am a conduit of God's creative activity in order to bring beauty, order, vision, and joy to this world.

I was never brave enough to sell my art, let alone show anyone it, until a few years ago when I was in desperate need of a creative outlet during graduate school. This is one of the bravest, most vulnerable things I have ever done.

I hope that my art brings you even a little bit of joy. :)
